Peter Tomsett
Mr Tomsett was appointed as Chairman of the Board in November 2021, after being appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the Board in September 2018. Mr Tomsett is also the Chairman of the Nominations Committee.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE
Mr Tomsett has extensive and deep gold mining and international business experience as both an executive and non-executive director of a broad range of mining companies listed on the Australian, Toronto, New York and London stock exchanges. His last executive role was as the President and Chief Executive Officer of global gold and copper company, Placer Dome Inc, where he worked for 20 years in project, operational and executive roles.
He has been the Chairman and Managing Director of Kidston Gold Mines Ltd and the Non-Executive Chairman of Equinox Minerals Ltd and Silver Standard Resources Inc. He has also held numerous other Board positions in mining, energy and construction companies and associations including as a Director of OZ Minerals Ltd, Acacia Mining plc, Talisman Energy Inc, North American Energy Partners Inc, Africo Resources Ltd, World Gold Council, Minerals Council of Australia, and International Council for Mining and Metals.

Philip Aiken AM
Mr Aiken was appointed to the Board in April 2013. He is Chairman of the Human Resources and Remuneration Committee and a member of the Safety and Sustainability Committee and the Nominations Committee.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE
Mr Aiken has extensive Australian and international business experience, principally in the engineering and resources sectors. He was Group President Energy BHP Billiton, President BHP Petroleum, Managing Director BOC/CIG, Chief Executive of BTR Nylex and Senior Advisor Macquarie Bank (Europe).

Philip Bainbridge
Mr Bainbridge was appointed to the Board as a Non-Executive Director with effect from April 2022. He is a member of the Safety and Sustainability Committee.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE
Mr Bainbridge has extensive senior executive experience, primarily in the oil and gas sector across exploration, development and production. He has worked in a variety of jurisdictions, including Papua New Guinea. His most recent executive role was as Executive General Manager LNG for Oil Search Limited. Prior to that, he had senior executive roles at Pacific National and BP Group.

Roger Higgins
Dr Higgins was appointed to the Board in October 2015. He is Chairman of the Safety and Sustainability Committee and a member of the Human Resources and Remuneration Committee.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE
Dr Higgins brings extensive experience leading mining companies and operations and has deep working knowledge of Papua New Guinea as a current Non-Executive Director and a former Managing Director of Ok Tedi Mining Limited in Papua New Guinea. In his most recent executive position, Dr Higgins served as Senior Vice President, Copper at Canadian metals and mining company, Teck Resources Limited.
Prior to this role he was Vice President and Chief Operating Officer with BHP Billiton Base Metals Customer Sector Group working in Australia and also held senior positions with BHP Billiton in Chile. He holds the position of Adjunct Professor with the Sustainable Minerals Institute, University of Queensland.

Sally-Anne Layman
Ms Layman was appointed to the Board as an Non-Executive Director from with effect from October 2020. She is a member of the Audit and Risk Committee and the Safety and Sustainability Committee.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE
Ms Layman has over 26 years of international experience in resources and corporate finance. She spent 14 years with Macquarie Group in a range of senior positions, including as Division Director and Joint Head of the Perth office of the Metals, Mining & Agriculture Division. Prior to that, Ms Layman held various positions with resource companies including Mount Isa Mines, Great Central Mines and Normandy Yandal.

Jane McAloon
Ms McAloon was appointed to the Board with effect from 1 July 2021. She is a member of the Human Resources and Remuneration Committee and a member of the Audit and Risk Committee.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE
Ms McAloon has extensive experience in the resources, energy, infrastructure and utilities industries. She spent 9 years as Group Company Secretary at BHP, including 2 years on the Group Management Committee as President Governance. Prior to that, Ms McAloon was Group Manager, Corporate & External Services & Company Secretary at AGL, had leadership roles with the NSW Government and worked in private legal practice.

Vickki McFadden
Ms McFadden was appointed to the Board in October 2016. She is Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee, member of the Human Resources and Remuneration Committee and a member of the Nominations Committee.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE
Ms McFadden is an experienced company director and has broad experience in several roles as member or chairman of audit and risk committees. Ms McFadden has an extensive background in finance and law.
She is a former investment banker with considerable expertise in corporate finance transactions, having served as Managing Director of Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch in Australia and as a Director of Centaurus Corporate Finance and a former President of the Australian Takeovers Panel.

Executive Management

Sherry Duhe
Appointed as Interim CEO at Newcrest in December 2022, Sherry joined Newcrest as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in February 2022. She has nearly three decades of experience across global energy and resource companies, most recently at Woodside Energy and Shell before that.
Having been CFO at two top ASX-listed companies, Sherry is a seasoned international executive leader across the finance and commercial sectors, having previously lived and worked in North America, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East before moving to Australia in 2017.

Megan Collins
Megan became Newcrest’s Chief People and Culture Officer (CPCO) in October 2022 and has more than 25 years’ experience across multinational, ASX-listed and start-up environments. This includes work across multiple industries and geographies, such as Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe and the United States.
Megan has previously been in senior executive roles at General Electric, including her last role as Vice-President Human Resources for GE Capital, at Treasury Wine Estates as Chief People & Communications Officer and most recently as CPCO at Judo Bank. Her remit at Newcrest includes oversight for People and Employee Relations, Talent and Capability, Workplace Respect and Inclusion, and Performance and Rewards.

Craig Jones
Craig has an extensive background in the mining and resources industry and has been responsible for leading Newcrest’s operations across Canada, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and Australia since joining the company in 2008.
He was appointed Interim Chief Operating Officer in December 2022 to have oversight across all of Newcrest’s operations globally after leading the company’s growth and performance across the Americas.

Dan O'Connell
Dan is a senior executive with more than 20 years’ experience in finance, including more than a decade at Newcrest across accounting and finance, treasury, tax, business and commercial performance. He previously held roles at BHP and Ernst & Young prior to joining the company.
A certified practicing accountant, Dan was appointed Interim Chief Financial Officer in December 2022, having previously been Group Treasurer. In this role, Dan oversees Newcrest’s financial performance, with remit covering Accounting, Group Procurement, Marketing, Shared Services, Financial Planning and Analysis, Communications, Government and Industry Relations, Investor Relations, Tax and Treasury.

Maria (Ria) Sanz Perez
Ria has extensive experience in the mining and resources, manufacturing, construction, private healthcare and banking sectors. She is a seasoned executive who has advised public boards, Chief Executives and Executive Committees on governance, risk, sustainability, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, litigation, regulatory and commercial legal matters.
Joining Newcrest as Chief Legal, Risk and Compliance Officer in July 2020, Ria has previously led international teams and has regulatory expertise across Africa, the Americas, Australia and the United Kingdom. Since 2022, Ria has also served as a Director of the Australian Resources and Energy Employer Association.

Seil Song
Seil joined Newcrest in 2017 and as Chief Development Officer is responsible for the company’s growth and development activities. This includes oversight for our global exploration program, business development and a growing portfolio of strategic partnerships, farm-in arrangements and investments across Australia, Asia-Pacific and the Americas.
Prior to his appointment to the Executive Committee, Seil led the acquisition of the Red Chris operations in British Columbia and our investment in Lundin Gold. He came to Newcrest having led severable notable transactions in the mining industry, whilst in London working in private equity and investment banking. Seil started his career as a mining engineer before moving into corporate strategy and business development with Rio Tinto.

Suresh Vadnagra
Suresh became Chief Technical and Projects Officer at Newcrest in May 2020, where he is accountable for core value generating disciplines including Resource Management, Mining, Metallurgy, Asset Management, Automation, Directional Studies and Technology, Project Delivery (including for the proposed Wafi-Golpu site in Papua New Guinea), Business Improvement and Technical Risk.
With extensive international operational and projects experience in the mining and resources sector, Suresh has worked and lived in Australia, Africa, Asia and South America. He was previously an executive at MMG Limited, including his last role as Executive General Manager Operations (Australia, Africa and Americas) where he was accountable for the operation and growth of a variety of assets in these regions, including the Las Bambas operation.

Beth White
Beth joined Newcrest as Chief Sustainability Officer in September 2022 and with more than 20 years’ international experience across the oil and gas industry, including in regions such as Papua New Guinea. She has worked across the fields of sustainability, commercial, development, exploration and geoscience, having previously served in senior roles at Oil Search Limited, including her most recent role as Executive Vice-President for Sustainability and Technology, and at Woodside Energy in technical and management positions.
At Newcrest, Beth has oversight for Sustainability and Social Performance, Health, Safety, Environment, Security, Cultural Heritage and Net Zero Emissions.
